It usually means that I&#8217;ll need to either spend hours figuring out how to make the code work or spend lots of $$$ to hire someone to do it for me. When I heard that you can now track Pinterest Pins on Google Analytics with UTM tracking codes the itching began.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9983 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/twprod.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Track-Pinterest-Pins-on-Google-Analytics-with-UTM-Tracking-Codes-pin.png\" alt=\"Track Pinterest Pins on Google Analytics with UTM Tracking Codes\" width=\"385\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yes, it would be great to track individual Pinterest pins to really monitor their effectiveness with a free service like Google Analytics but there was that dreaded word, &#8220;code&#8221;. \u00a0<em>Ugh.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Google Analytics is a great tool. Without any of the new codes you can monitor things such as how much traffic is coming to your site from Pinterest, pageviews, and the average amount of time visitors from Pinterest spent on your site. \u00a0You can even break it down to which individual pin is bring in you the most traffic for a certain time period.<strong> (See below for the steps)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But<\/strong> what if you want to monitor how a particular pin is working for you<strong> including the repins<\/strong> of your original pin? This is where using UTM tracking codes can come in handy.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, they&#8217;re easy to do and you <strong>won&#8217;t<\/strong> have to hire professional help to use them.<\/p>\n<p>I asked Ralph Rivera, who&#8217;s personal tagline is\u00a0\u00a0&#8220;I love marketing and code&#8221; to help me understand how to use UTM tracking codes with Pinterest. Ralph is the owner of 2 web development and marketing businesses as well as a web development adjunct professor at\u00a0Manhattan College. <em>In other words,<strong> he knows his stuff!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ralph was kind enough to walk me though how to use UTM tracking codes with Pinterest pins and ways to use them over a video call. <em>(Please excuse the poor video quality on my end. It stripped away the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohsopinteresting.com\/easy-pinterest-rich-pins-wordpress-plugin-osp-episode-043\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rich pin<\/a> information from our test pins. However, fellow Pinterest pro Vincent Ng found that his rich pin information returned after a while during his testing. Pinterest is known for rolling out certain features to some accounts and not others.
