Our Study Says Every Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For this&nbsp;<strong>original study <\/strong>by Tailwind&nbsp;we took over 100,000 Instagram posts from a three month period and analyzed them to uncover how successful different accounts were when they changed the number of times they post to Instagram each day. &nbsp;We wanted to know how likes growth, follower growth, and engagement rate all change with different posting frequencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We thought we&#8217;d see higher engagement rates (likes plus comments divided by followers) among accounts that post less often. &nbsp;What we found surprised us. &nbsp;There was a significant difference in engagement rates between those who post once per week and those who post seven times per week or more. In fact, we found that accounts that increased their rate of posting over the three month study <strong>saw a significant increase in their engagement rate, and enjoyed higher follower growth rates too!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we stop to think about it, it makes sense to me that Instagram would want to reward people for using their platform more. This original study suggests that if you want to maximize likes, engagement rate and follower growth, you should post to Instagram at least every day. \" class=\"wp-image-10961 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>In this post you&#8217;ll learn:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How often you should post to Instagram<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The effect post frequency\u00a0has on total likes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The effect post frequency has on follower growth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The effect post frequency has on the engagement rate of your posts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-when-you-nbsp-post-to-instagram-more-often-you-get-more-likes\">When You&nbsp;Post to Instagram More Often You Get More Likes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10954\" src=\"https:\/\/twprod.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/The-More-You-Post-to-Instagram-The-More-Likes-You-Get-How-Many-Times-Should-I-Post-to-Instagram-Statistics.png\" alt=\"The More You Post to Instagram The More Likes You Get - How Many Times Should I Post to Instagram Statistics\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s say you get 1,000 likes per month with your current posting schedule of every other day. &nbsp;It stands to reason that you should get around 2,000 likes per month if you started posting every single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the reasons people give for not increasing their posting volume is a fear that if they post more often the number of likes and comments they get per post will go down, that they&#8217;ll be working harder and experiencing diminishing returns. &nbsp;That&#8217;s not what we observed, as the next chart shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-posting-more-actually-increases-engagement-rate\">Posting More Actually Increases Engagement Rate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/twprod.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Instagram-Accounts-That-Start-Posting-More-Increase-Their-Engagement-Rate-How-Many-Times-a-Day-Should-I-Post-to-Instagram-Statistics.png\" alt=\"Instagram Accounts That Start Posting More Increase Their Engagement Rate - How Many Times a Day Should I Post to Instagram Statistics\" class=\"wp-image-10951 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Other studies have suggested that <a href=\"https:\/\/tailwindapp.com\/blog\/instagram-engagement-growth\">engagement rates<\/a> fall on Instagram when you post more often. &nbsp;This study also found that accounts that post more than once per day have slightly lower engagement rates (7%) than accounts that post less than once per week (8%). &nbsp;<strong>BUT<\/strong> accounts that post frequently are also significantly more likely to be large accounts, and large accounts almost always have lower engagement rates than small accounts anyway (because large accounts tend to have a lot more lurkers, people who follow, but don&#8217;t engage with their posts). &nbsp;If we look at the data like this we&#8217;re comparing apples with oranges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this reason, in this study we looked at <strong>the same accounts&nbsp;<\/strong>over time as they increased their posting frequency.
