Instagram\u2019s own native story editing has lots of options for those who are looking to add filters to media, overlay text and emojis, add stickers and even draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t need any fancy software to create stories, either. Both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canva<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/spark.adobe.com\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Adobe Spark<\/a> have free plans and are easy for beginners to use. Don\u2019t be afraid to get creative with your stories through animation and custom text!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instagram story templates are also available to purchase from places like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Etsy<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Creative Market<\/a>, so if you like the idea of branded stories but aren\u2019t sure how to create them yourself, find some customizable templates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-make-engaging-instagram-stories\">How to Make Engaging Instagram Stories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Although you only have a 15-second time limit with a single video to engage your audience (and even less time with images), there are different ways you can get your viewers to stay on your stories for longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-split-videos-up\">Split Videos Up<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If 15 seconds isn\u2019t long enough for your videos, apps like <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/cutstory-for-instagram-stories\/id917630934?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CutStory<\/a> will be able to help you turn a longer video into shorter 15-second segments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Creating multiple segments from one video will keep your viewers clicking through your story so they can watch the entire video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ask-a-question\">Ask a Question<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Speak directly to your audience and ask a question, encouraging them to direct message you with their answers! While many of your story viewers will be your current followers, reaching people who aren\u2019t following you is the key to growing your account.
