I found almost everything for my wedding on Pinterest. It was like an <\/span><b>online shopping bazaar &#8211;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and I enjoyed every minute of it.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That spells good news for e-commerce businesses!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to<\/span><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/sproutsocial.com\/insights\/pinterest-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sprout Social<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <strong>people who use Pinterest are more likely to purchase items that they see advertised to them<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pinterest reports that <\/span><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/sproutsocial.com\/insights\/pinterest-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">93% of Pinners make purchases<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> because of what they see on the platform!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u201cWith 200 million monthly users, 93% is a lot of people who want to purchase something. It makes a good business case for advertising on Pinterest.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<cite>Sprout Social<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After seeing a Promoted Pin, <\/span><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/sproutsocial.com\/insights\/pinterest-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>50% of people<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have made a purchase so using Pinterest for business is a smart choice. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facebook, on the other hand, reports that<\/span><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wordstream.com\/blog\/ws\/2017\/11\/07\/facebook-statistics\" target=\"_blank\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">26% of people<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> make a purchase after seeing an ad.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally, I was coached to use Facebook Ads to promote my Shopify store, and it got expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Each month, I spent <\/span><b>more than $1,000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to run ads on Facebook but wasn&#8217;t seeing the return I would like. There was too much competition for my drop-shipped products.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, I was more than happy to experiment with Pinterest after seeing those numbers!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-steps-for-getting-started-with-pinterest-for-shopify\">3 Steps For Getting Started with Pinterest For Shopify<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the aim of paying off the small debt I incurred from my wild Pinterest spending, I decided to get serious about using it to market my Shopify store.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Hey, if Pinterest caused me to spend a <\/span><b>crazy amount of money<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> then shouldn&#8217;t it help me MAKE a crazy amount of money? Shouldn\u2019t it help me grow my Shopify store? I think a million times \u201cYes\u201d!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-convert-to-a-pinterest-business-account\">1. Convert to a Pinterest Business Account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first step was to <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tailwindapp.com\/blog\/personal-to-pinterest-business\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">convert my Pinterest to a business account<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I wanted those analytics &#8211; and it\u2019s also required by <a href=\"https:\/\/policy.pinterest.com\/en\/terms-of-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pinterest Terms of Service<\/a> if you\u2019re going to promote your Business on Pinterest!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-set-up-rich-pins\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> <\/span>2. Set Up Rich Pins<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Then, I <strong>set up <\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/business.pinterest.com\/en\/rich-pins\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Rich Pins<\/strong><\/a> on my account so that my <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tailwindapp.com\/blog\/pinterest-seo-simplified\" target=\"_blank\">Pins would get more exposure in search<\/a> results. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also learned that Pinterest and Shopify had <strong>partnered up<\/strong> and you could now implement Buyable Pins.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-pin-nopin=\"true\" data-src=\"https:\/\/twprod.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Screen-Shot-2020-09-10-at-12.34.53-PM.png\" alt=\"Rich Product Pins\" class=\"wp-image-21317 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People could buy your products directly off of Pinterest. So cool!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because of Pinterest and Shopify\u2019s partnership, this meant that Buyable Pins were also enabled. I started running ads. As predicted, I began hearing more of the <\/span><b>\u201ccha-ching\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sound from my Shopify iPhone app. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-subscribe-to-tailwind-for-pinterest\">3. Subscribe to Tailwind For Pinterest<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I started <\/span><b>using<\/b> <b><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tailwindapp.com\/pinterest?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=cta&amp;utm_campaign=general&amp;utm_content=in-text-cta-grow-shopify-store-pinterest\" target=\"_blank\">Tailwind<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tailwindapp.com\/pinterest?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=cta&amp;utm_campaign=general&amp;utm_content=in-text-cta-grow-shopify-store-pinterest\" target=\"_blank\"> for Pinterest<\/a> too, an app that lets you <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tailwindapp.com\/pinterest?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=cta&amp;utm_campaign=general&amp;utm_content=in-text-cta-grow-shopify-store-pinterest\" target=\"_blank\">automatically schedule Pins<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This helped quite a lot because I had been manually pinning and I could not save Pins during peak Pinterest hours due to my job.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, with Rich Pins enabled, you can schedule product-related Pins using Tailwind and the price and description will pull over &#8211; no extra work required!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Psst&#8230; want to try Tailwind for Pinterest yourself? Snag a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tailwindapp.com\/pinterest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">free trial of tailwind for Pinterest<\/a> to test our amazing features for free! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was thrilling to see the influx of <\/span><b>new customers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that Pinterest and Tailwind were bringing to my humble store, but &#8211; plot twist! &#8211; that was going to slow soon.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-adjusting-my-pinterest-shopify-strategy\">Adjusting My Pinterest Shopify Strategy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2018, <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/digital\/pinterest-is-converting-its-older-buyable-pins-to-product-pins\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pinterest changed Buyable Pins to Product Pins<\/a>. Now, rather than enabling a sale right ON Pinterest with Buyable Pins, Product Pins send Pinners to buy from your store&#8217;s checkout page.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My sales dipped, but I was able to bring them up with a change in strategy!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This slowdown decreased when I began <\/span><b>designing my own Pins<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> instead of using just bland product images to advertise. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I stuck with Pinterest\u2019s recommended 2:3 ratio using 600 x 900 pixels:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-pin-nopin=\"true\" data-src=\"https:\/\/twprod.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-03-at-9.56.28-AM.png\" alt=\"product photography\" class=\"wp-image-15654 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My Pins now stood out on a user&#8217;s feed among a sea of plain-Jane product images from my competitors. Pinterest also enabled <\/span><b>Pinterest searches for Product Pins<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> so they can see what is for sale and filter out everything that&#8217;s not. Hooray!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2020 update: You now have a dedicated Shop tab on your Pinterest profile with all your Product Pins. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That means a customer is more likely to view and purchase your other items too<\/span>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-pin-nopin=\"true\" data-src=\"https:\/\/twprod.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Screen-Shot-2020-09-10-at-12.32.26-PM-1024x508.png\" alt=\"Pinterest Shop Tab\" class=\"wp-image-21316 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1024px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1024\/508;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the Shopify dashboard under Analytics, it tells you the online store sessions by social source. I had more sessions from Pinterest than any other social site! <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My store was starting to do better on Pinterest with the <\/span><b>designed Pins<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tailwindapp.com\/blog\/want-pinterest-ads-results-8-things-you-need-to-know-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>increased advertising<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Tailwind<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and a new tool called<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nichescraper.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nichescraper<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Nichescraper<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> allowed me to find <\/span><b>\u201cwinning products\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to feature on advertisements and drive customers to my store. I used Nichescraper by searching for my competitors to see what their best-selling products were and then seeing if they had a Pinterest or Facebook page.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>What products were appearing in their ads?<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> I could find that product, import it to my own store, and run an ad. The competitor would not pay to run an ad that wasn&#8217;t doing well, right? I would make my ad better, of course, by using a designed Pin that attracted the eye and a keyword-rich Pin description.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-shopify-and-pinterest-a-match-made-in-marketer-heaven\">Shopify and Pinterest &#8211; A Match Made in Marketer Heaven<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/twprod.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-03-at-9.56.40-AM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15655 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every day, more and more people are finding out the benefits of using Pinterest for their business.
