For line break and spacing success:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Do: Break the habit of hitting the space bar after the end of a sentence. Extra spaces will cancel out even your best formatting efforts!<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do: Include emojis at the beginning or end of an important line. Breaking up your thoughts mid-sentence with emojis is distracting!<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Don&#8217;t: Add emoji right from your phone keyboard. This creates an automatic space after the emoji and a whole lot of headaches! <\/strong> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-methods-for-adding-blank-spaces\">4 Methods for Adding Blank Spaces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-method-1-write-your-instagram-caption-out-in-your-notes-app-first\">Method 1: Write Your Instagram Caption Out in Your Notes App First<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As you may have already realized, it isn\u2019t possible to include a line break on the Instagram app itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you press Enter while typing your caption on Instagram, any formatting will disappear once you hit \u201cPost!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You also can\u2019t go back into your caption and make formatting changes &#8211; they won\u2019t appear.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>That\u2019s why one of the first fixes for adding line breaks is to draft your caption in Notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> To do this, open your Notes app (or a similar app &#8211; this is where it gets tricky.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the formatting to work on Instagram,<strong> you\u2019ll need to remove any spaces after the period that ends the last sentence before the line break. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We habitually hit that space bar after a period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> But adding a space after your punctuation will guarantee your line break formatting won\u2019t work.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had to try a few times ourselves to get it right!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-put-spaces-in-your-instagram-bio\">How to Put Spaces in Your Instagram Bio<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, and did we mention you can also add spaces in your <a href=\"https:\/\/tailwindapp.com\/blog\/8-instagram-ideas-for-a-profile-that-pops\">Instagram bio<\/a>? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The same trick will work in this section, too!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To recap, you can add blank spaces to your Instagram caption using the Notes app with these 3 steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Type your Instagram caption into the Notes app with spaces included.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select then Copy &amp; paste your caption into the caption field of your Instagram post.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove any spaces after the period that ends the last sentence before the line break.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-method-2-use-a-line-break-generator-app-nbsp\">Method 2: Use a Line Break Generator App&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Instagram Text Spacer apps are another common workaround for adding space in captions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several browser versions available, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hashtagie.com\/instagram-text-spacer\">Hashtagie<\/a> and Apps4Life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/twprod.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Screen-Shot-2019-07-18-at-7.15.35-AM-1024x522.png\" alt=\"how to create line breaks and spaces on Instagram\" class=\"wp-image-17215 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1024px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1024\/522;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> You can also download apps like <a href=\"https:\/\/insta-space.org\">Insta-Space<\/a> on iPhone and Android to draft your captions with spaces before posting to Instagram. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To use a line break generator app:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Type your Instagram caption directly into the app, or copy and paste from Notes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you\u2019re done adding your line breaks, copy the text from the app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open Instagram or your Instagram scheduler, and paste the edited text into your caption.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>This workaround is useful if a little clumsy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll have to juggle a few browsers or apps at once on your phone to get your nicely spaced caption ready for Instagram!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-method-3-hide-your-hashtags-with-periods\">Method 3: Hide Your Hashtags With Periods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You may not be as concerned with spacing out long captions as you are with hiding your hashtags!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although hashtags are useful for pushing your Instagram posts or videos to relevant search streams where more users can see your posts, they make captions look cluttered.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>One common workaround is to push hashtags under the visible part of the caption!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> You can do this by <strong>including period \u201cspaces\u201d between the end of the caption and your hashtags. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This<strong> hides your hashtags under the \u201cSee More\u201d button<\/strong> so that users will have to click in order to see the full caption (and your hashtags).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The downside of this workaround is that periods or other symbols make visible line breaks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Formatting them can also be tricky because if you include a space after any of the periods, Instagram\u2019s zero-space formatting will remove the line break.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-do-i-hide-my-hashtags-on-instagram\">How do I hide my hashtags on Instagram?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To hide your hashtags, type your Instagram caption in the app. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, <strong>hit return, add a period, and hit return again. <\/strong>Remember, don\u2019t hit the spacebar, or the formatting won\u2019t work! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep adding as many periods as you like to reach your desired length, and then add in your hashtags. #\ufe0f\u20e3<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B0CIQXQgpRA\">https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B0CIQXQgpRA<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>However, there\u2019s an all-in-one tool available that includes all your emojis, hashtags and line breaks in your Instagram caption draft without losing your formatting! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, you can banish ugly hashtags in your captions forever by <strong>automatically <a href=\"https:\/\/tailwindapp.com\/blog\/how-to-hide-hashtags-on-instagram\">hiding them<\/a> in the first comment!  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-method-4-use-tailwind-to-automatically-include-line-breaks-in-your-caption\">Method 4: Use Tailwind to Automatically Include Line Breaks In Your Caption<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If beautiful, long captions full of line breaks and emojis are a must for your Instagram feed aesthetic, then Tailwinds Post Caption editor is a must!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this tool, you don\u2019t need to worry about style or length.
