Do you have a question about Tailwind for Instagram? Well, we have an answer. Since the launch of our Instagram scheduling tool, we’ve heard a lot of excitement and a lot of questions. In this post we go over the 10 most commonly asked questions about Tailwind for Instagram. If your question is still unanswered just let us know in the comments!
Tailwind for Instagram Plus Plan is an additional cost to our Tailwind for Pinterest Plus Plan. Each account you add, whether it’s for Instagram or Pinterest, will be an additional $15 a month for the monthly plan or $119 a year for the yearly plan. However, if you already have a Plus Plan with us, you can go ahead and trial either Pinterest for Instagram for free!
When you’re logged into your Tailwind dashboard, go to the top left hand corner and hover over your profile picture. From there you can see all of your synced profiles. You can also switch between Pinterest and Instagram when scheduling using the browser extension. Just click on your profile photo at the top and select which account you want to schedule to.
You can sync your Instagram by going into your account settings and clicking on “Add New Instagram Account”. From there you will be asked to login with Instagram.
Tailwind cannot post on your behalf because it’s against Instagram’s Terms of Service. Instagram wants their users to be focused on being in the moment and catching things insta-ntaneously (get it?). With traditional social scheduling, you can just set it and forget it. Tailwind instead relies on push notifications through the iOS app, or SMS messages for Android, to notify you when it’s time to post. This helps you always be in the moment when you’re posting to Instagram.
We do not have an Android app yet, but we know it’s important to our users. Although we do not have an app yet, you can still use the desktop site and Tailwind will send you an SMS with the photo and your caption when it’s time to post so you can still upload your photo at the right time.
While we don’t have a timeline for an Andriod app yet, it is something that’s on our roadmap. Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about our Android users!

There are a number of advantages to using Tailwind vs using another tool. First, no one else has our smart schedule which tells you when you should post based on when your audience is most engaged. Next, we offer unlimited posting on our annual plan and access to top-notch analytics. Finally, and most importantly, we are an Instagram partner. That means you can always trust us to abide by Instagram’s Terms of Service and know that we’ll never do anything to harm your account.
You can use one login for multiple accounts within Tailwind, but each account will be a separate subscription. Add more accounts to your Tailwind dashboard by going to your account settings and syncing either another Instagram or Pinterest account.
It is ok to repost old images, as long as you haven’t posted them in a while. For example, reposting seasonal images is a great way to reuse old content and introduce those images to people who might not have been following you last year. However, you do not want to continually post the same photo to the point where your someone would see it multiple times while scrolling down your profile.
We do offer hashtag monitoring on our enterprise level accounts. If you’re interested in learning more, send an email to bd(at)tailwindapp.com.
